It’s coming early this year.
Our 3rd Lt. Adam
Gustafson Memorial Golf Tournament is Monday, June 16, 2025, at the Hawley Golf Club.
Adam loved to golf. He was frustrated by the game, but never gave up. Had standing weekly tee times. Taught me the game and our children. It’s a beautiful sport because you can walk in the sun with a beverage and chat with friends for a few hours, regardless of how well you hit the ball.
It was supposed to be my first day golfing out with some lady friends on May 18, 2021. I’ve told the story before. You can read it here.
He loaded his car for me that day. Packed extra pink balls he
purchased because he knew I liked to hit pink and he knew I lost plenty of
them.
It’s a bittersweet memory of the worst morning of my life.
Now’s your opportunity to come out and enjoy a round with
some friends. We’re usually sold out by this time, but have plenty of sponsorships
and team registrations left unclaimed.
There’s plenty of opportunities to be a part of a great event that allows us to provide scholarships to law enforcement students and support to local first responders doing difficult work day in and day out.
We’re proud to have provided $36,000 in scholarships to the
schools that made Adam the cop he was – Long Prairie-Grey Eagle High School,
University of North Dakota, and Alexandria Tech. The Lt. Adam Gustafson
Memorial Fund gives a $305 meat package from Butcher Block Meats and a grill, smoker,
or Blackstone every month to local first responders.
Our golf tournament is the only event put on by LAGMF and is
the primary fundraiser that allows us to give back in Adam’s memory.
If you’ve got raffle prizes, time to volunteer, or bottles
of whiskey to donate, please let us know.
Thank you for all of the love and support since losing Adam.
We’re going to have a lot of fun golfing on June 16, 2025, just like Adam would want us to.
Hope to see you there.
