We made it back home just in time for another blizzard, but what
a time we had!
Sun, beaches, Pearl Harbor - so many memories made.
I learned the meaning of "Mahalo."
An expression of gratitude in Hawaii.
To say we’re grateful for this experience is an understatement.
My husband, Adam, was a police officer.
A Lieutenant at the West Fargo Police Department.
Because of that, a beautiful nonprofit called Band of Blue
sent our family to Hawaii.
I’d never heard of Band of Blue before, but they came
alongside my family in our time of grief and extended us a gift we never could
have imagined.
Remember that trip to Hawaii in 2020 that Adam and I didn’t
get to take?
Together, we create transformative experiences to help families of fallen officers move forward.
They came to the West Fargo Police Department in December and presented our family with this trip of a lifetime. What can one say to such a gift?
A chance to see a beautiful place with my family. To make
memories. To escape a brutal winter. It isn’t the trip Adam and I had planned,
but since that can never be – this was the next greatest thing.
Band of Blue is an amazing organization committed to the
families of fallen officers.
We are so grateful for the time they gave our family to experience Hawaii together.
Mahalo.
