Basement Reveal

Here it is. FINALLY.

The basement remodel photos everyone keeps asking for.

BEFORE - we had mauve walls and no storage. 

Our downstairs had been a bit of a dumping ground of mismatched furniture and kid stuff since we moved in. Adam and I didn't use the space often. 

I wanted a fireplace. We’d talked about adding a bar.

I decided on a basement kitchen area with great display shelves for Adam’s whiskey collection.

We went from one giant blank wall -

To this warm and cozy space to watch movies by the fire!

Our basement had no built-in cupboards or storage of any kind. These tall cabinets next to the fireplace hold our movies, games, blankets – all the things. I love them!

And then there’s the party area -

Check out the amazing flooring, tile backsplash and beautiful blue custom cabinets. 

The show stopper is the shelving. Look at how amazing the lighting is on this whiskey collection I never wanted, but now display with pride.

Adam would have loved this.

The Home Authority was wonderful to work with. On time, on task, on budget. Kind and caring at every step of the way. 

We use this space ALL THE TIME now and I truly smile whenever I walk downstairs. If you have to own a ridiculous amount of whiskey - it may as well look beautiful. The Home Authority helped create a space unique to our needs and so enjoyable to be in. 

If you have a home project you've been thinking about - do it. Can it feel overwhelming, daunting, painful? Maybe, but the end result is SO worth it. We absolutely love our basement.
