So much to get done, to attend, to pick up, to run by, to see and to do.
There are days it is all too much.
Single-parenting at Christmas is a never-ending hamster wheel
where falling off comes with the pressure that you’re ruining the magic of a
beautiful season for the little people in your life.
If you’re counting gifts to keep things even, scouring for
something meaningful to give instead of junk, realizing you never baked any
Christmas cookies – if it feels like you’re running out of time no matter how
early you started – we all are.
Zoom out.
Our days are limited.
Our time is finite.
Take a few deep breaths and watch the sunrise.
Walk outside in the most unseasonably warm December.
Find space in the moment and know none of this really
matters.
One more gift won’t make everything perfect.
Our “perfect” was shattered long ago.
Make room to enjoy the moments this Christmas with the people
you love.
Remember the tiny gift we all were given in a Savior and
trade the overwhelm for peace.
