Summer is here.
That means it is grilling season. Smoking meat. Blackstone
breakfasts. Time to cook outside.
Adam loved cooking meat. Inviting people over to eat his smoked ribs, meatloaf, pulled pork, or burgers. He enjoyed buying in bulk and cooking for the masses.
After losing Adam, we created the Lt. Adam Gustafson Memorial Fund (LAGMF) as a way to
give back and support law enforcement students and local first responders in
Adam’s memory.
We’ve given out $14,000 in scholarships to criminal justice
majors at UND and law enforcement students at Alexandria Tech, the two schools
that turned Adam into the amazing cop that he was.
We started giving away $305 worth of meat from Meats by John and Wayne each month to local first responder agencies. Adam’s badge number was #305. We’re throwing in a grill, or smoker, or Blackstone so they can cook in style. Shift work often means these folks eat together. We want to fill their freezers and tell them thank you for the long hours and dedication to our community.
Here’s our June winner announcement:
It was our pleasure to deliver piles of meat and a 36 inch Blackstone Griddle to Moorhead Police Department in June.
Tune in to our Facebook page to see who wins in July!
